Installation Guide

General guidance for safely installing your Luminoza fixture. When in doubt, hire a licensed electrician.

Safety Notice: Working with electrical wiring can be dangerous. If you are not comfortable with electrical work, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed electrician. Always turn off the circuit breaker before beginning any installation.

Before You Begin

  • Turn off the circuit breaker for the room where you are installing the fixture.
  • Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm the power is off.
  • Read all instructions included in the product packaging before starting.
  • Ensure your junction box is rated for the weight of the fixture.
  • Have all necessary tools ready: screwdrivers, wire strippers, wire connectors.

General Installation Steps

  1. 1. Remove the Old Fixture

Turn off power at the breaker. Remove the existing fixture and disconnect the wiring. Note which wires are black (hot), white (neutral), and bare/green (ground).

  2. 2. Prepare the Junction Box

Ensure the junction box is securely mounted and rated for the weight of your new fixture. If your fixture weighs more than 35 lbs, use a fan-rated box with a ceiling brace.

  3. 3. Connect the Wiring

Connect black to black (hot), white to white (neutral), and bare/green to bare/green (ground) using wire connectors. Never leave exposed wires.

  4. 4. Mount the Fixture

Attach the mounting bracket to the junction box, then secure the fixture canopy. Follow the specific instructions included with your fixture for the correct mounting hardware.

  5. 5. Install Bulbs & Restore Power

Install the recommended bulb type (see fixture label). Turn the circuit breaker back on and test the fixture.

Bulb Recommendations

Each fixture includes a label specifying the maximum wattage and bulb type. General guidelines:

  • Use LED bulbs for energy efficiency and longevity.
  • Do not exceed the maximum wattage listed on the fixture.
  • For dimmable fixtures, use dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.
  • Warm white (2700K–3000K) bulbs complement most Luminoza fixtures best.
